Frequently Asked Questions
What are some of the variations you have used?
I have made peanut butter with chocolate, peanut butter and jelly, cream cheese, and even used pudding for some. They all taste delicious and are easily made.
How do I store these treats?
They are best eaten fresh, however, you can store them in an airtight container or zip-closed bag. If you use cream cheese, store the Crack Sticks in the refrigerator. For peanut butter, the Crack Sticks can be stored at room temperature. These will last for up to 3 days. The cream cheese, peanut butter, and pudding will tend to soften the bread.
Can I prepare these ahead of time?
Crack Sticks can be made up to 24 hours in advance and then kept in the refrigerator until you are ready to bake them. I do not recommend freezing the Crack Sticks as they will become too moist when they thaw.
What makes this a great recipe?
The fact that they need ingredients that you most likely have at home already is the top reason. They are also quick to make, taste great, and so simple that you will be surprised how good they taste.
What type of event would Crack Sticks be a good choice for?
Almost any event you can think of. I have brought them to work meetings, church events, movie nights at home, and also when the kids have had slumber parties with friends over. You can make such a variety that there is a choice for everyone.
Could I make these with fruit?
Trust me, Crack Sticks are delicious when you make them with pie filling or even sliced fruit with the cream cheese.
